KilnMeet the Founder    VanGo Pottery was founded in 2005 by Sheri Geiss, a single mother of two, who wanted to spend more time with her daughters and less time at the office. After looking into several business opportunities and lots of research, she came up with the idea of a mobile paint your own pottery studio, and VanGo Pottery™ was born. (Check out the full story in Phoenix Business Journal.) Since then, VanGo Pottery has proven to be a successful business model, appearing on Phoenix’s Sonoran Living television show and winning top honors in StartUp Nation’s Leading Moms in Business competition in 2010, a contest that recognizes the top 200 mom-owned businesses throughout the United States. Sheri is a Phoenix native with a Fine Arts degree from Arizona State University. Daughters, Taylour and Tristyn, help with the business part-time while pursuing their art degrees.
